Home Learning
Children are expected to read at least 5 times a week, as well as practise their spellings. Spellings will be emailed out, put on the class webpage and a copy will also be put into children’s book bags. Children will have a spelling test every Thursday afternoon.

This term, children will all be sent home with a set of Common Exception Words to practise. Children will need to spell these words correctly in their test and also consistently in their writing book before they move on to the next set. If your child is able to consistently use these spellings in tests and their books they will then move to the next set. If they complete all Year 1 spellings, they would move on to Year 2 spellings. We will continue with this until the end of the year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask a member of the team.
