School Closure

Dear Families,

The school is now CLOSED to most children until further notice. You will have had confirmation in writing if there is child care arrangements in place for your child. Please do not send your child to school on Monday and for the foreseeable future if you have not received confirmation directly from myself.

Now that that horrible yet important message has been given, I wanted to share my sadness but most importantly my optimism. None of us at Sea Mills came into this profession to see our wonderful school close in the way it has but it warmed my heart to see the children leaving with smiles on their faces, embracing one another and for some saying ‘ I’m actually going to miss school’ for the first time. Thank you all for the many kind comments as I stood on the gate. They really mean a lot. I also want to apologise if I have not always taken the right action, or delivered a message in the right way and can only say I did my best and I have never worked harder to keep the school going whilst ensuring we are a safe place for the children to come into, be happy and thrive.
The school staff, as I said in a previous email are still here, working hard and keeping you all in mind! We are all here to help and support you in any way we can so please keep in touch.

Please take time to visit the website, there is so much information on there and many of you will have not checked it for a long time. It will be updated every week with home learning activities, video from teachers and messages.

Finally and most importantly look after each other and be kind. Don’t be too hard on your children in the next week or so, go out as a family if you can ( following all guidance). Go to the park, go for a walk, play in the garden if you have one, given them hugs and reassure them. This is a rapidly changing picture so keep some tools in your arsenal in case of stricter measures that may or may not come into place in the future.

Please take care of yourselves and your families.
Best Wishes,
Mrs Randall and the Sea Mills Staff Team

Welcome to Sea Mills Primary School. My name is Sian Randall and I am the Head teacher of this amazing school. I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you about our school and the children and staff within it. We are very proud of the fact that high quality teaching leads to good and outstanding progress so many of our children learn faster than their peers locally and nationally.

Our core values of Respect, Responsibility and Aspiration are always at the heart of everything we do and at Sea Mills Primary we aim to give every child the very best start possible to their education.

Our intent is to provide children with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive and succeed in the modern world.  We will encourage children to be curious and ask questions, deepen their understanding of the world around them and develop their own opinions. On leaving us for the next stage of learning, we aim for all of our children to be confident readers, writers and mathematicians. We want all our children to be respectful, responsible and have high aspirations. Sea Mills heritage and community is central to our curriculum design. The Early Years are crucial to a child’s development and our Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 enable the children to get their school careers off to a flying start. As part of this, we offer free places for eligible families and paid sessions. For more information, visit or contact the school office.
