Eco Week 2019

Events Eco Week Monday

Jasmine from City to Sea launched Eco Week, with a brilliant assembly on the impact plastic is having on our coastlines and sea creatures.

Mr Randall came in all day today helping the children build bug hotels which will encourage small mini beasts to our school grounds. This will encourage more birds, bigger predators and help with pollination.

Events Eco Week Wednesday

Today Mrs Randall took a group of reception children outside to do some planting in the playground. All the children had a good dig in the flower beds and then painted lots of pretty primroses, violas and pansies to brighten up the play area.

Children in Y4-Y6 had workshops about sustainable energy. They leaned about where our power comes from and how we can cut down our own energy usage.

Events Eco Week Thursday

Sea Mills Community Allotments are coming in today to plant sunflower seeds. They will be at the after school cake sale and eco brick workshop with information about a hedge planting event they have this weekend.

Events Eco Week Friday

Today year 6 planted seeds and took part in an interesting workshop about renewable energy.
